27 Apr Why is Facebook controlling our news feed?
It’s Sunday, let’s talk about something not so technical. You know that your Facebook news feed is not a real time feed, it is curated. Ever wonder why?
The logic is quite simple, Facebook wants to show you what you’re interested in. The news feed algorithm consists over 100k factors to decide what you’re interested in, based on your behaviours, decided by artificial intelligence. It’s the robot that’s deciding what you see. The idea is to make sure that you always feel Facebook as an “interesting” app to visit, so that you’ll keep coming back.
So that they can serve you more ads, as you log in more times, spending more time on Facebook.
