Who do you seek to serve?

“Do you do Google ads?” I get this question a lot.

It is tempting to cross over, or someone might have the idea of assembling a team for that. It’s a customer request, it represents demand and that’s business opportunities. Not for me.

I turned down all the requests. I even dropped most of the services we offered as a digital agency and zoomed into Facebook advertising and Facebook advertising only. It’s not an easy decision to make, but it sends a clear message to the market about what we represent.

You have to make a stand, you can’t serve anyone and everyone. If you’re not able to pick a focus area, you probably need to work harder to find one, and be the best in it. Either way works, but it is a lot easier to start with identifying who do you seek to serve, everything else follows.
