The fundamental of Facebook advertising

I always like to compare Facebook advertising to Google Search Engine marketing as push and pull types of digital advertising forms.

Google Adwords is pull advertising. You put a bait where people might be looking for you, hopefully the bite the bait and you reel them to your website. Convert or not is another story.

Facebook advertising on the other hand, is push advertising. Pretty similar to conventional forms of advertising. Take TVC for example, you pay a sum of money to a TV channel, they will promise to push your ads out at certain period of time for X number of times.

Only on Facebook you’re able to zoom into the location, gender, age group, interest targeting, time of advertising, etc.

When it comes to push advertising, it is important to focus on reaching the optimum frequency to get your message delivered.
