Yes, instead of Facebook advertising, we’re moving into the era of Facebook Private Advertising.
In fact Facebook advertising has been “private” all the time – no one knows which product you have browsed, which product we have added to card, which website we have initiated checkout or purchased from.
However our main interaction with ads have been on the news feed, and our perception is that news feed is public, all actions we do are tracked and possibly made public for our friends to see.
Not in Messenger, Instagram private message, or even WhatsApp.
Imagine if we’re able to build an extended experience targeting those who have taken certain action to complete specific actions on Messenger or WhatsApp level, things like complete payment.
I’m excited about what’s to come.
