I always like to relate Facebook advertising to conventional advertising. They are basically the same, only different in the medium. They are both push advertising.

What do you do when you advertise on TV, billboard or radio? You pick the best channel or spot where your target audiences hangout most, and you be there to push your message out, hoping they will take the action you desire.

It’s the same on Facebook. Only you’re now able to zoom into specific area by 1KM radius to 80KM radius. You only advertise to female age 25-34 with kids below 1 year old, who is also interested in some brands you’d like to target.
